Dan David Center for Research in Human Evolution and Biohistory

The anthropological collection housed at the Dan David Center for Human Evolution and Biohistory Research, part of The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History and National Research Center, is one of the most important collections of its kind in the world. It records the evolution of humans in the Middle East from 1.5 million years ago up to the present day, and holds artifacts not found anywhere else in the world, among them the remains of the first modern humans out of Africa, southern Neandertals, and the core hunter-gatherer population from which all modern populations evolved.
