“Biochemical Analysis of a New Signaling Pathway that Regulates Lifespan”

Research description:

I am currently interested in analyzing how ROS (reactive oxygen species) and oxidative stress regulate aging and age-related diseases such as cancers, diabetes and neurodegenerative disease (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease etc.).

By applying various methods including genome-wide RNAi screen and biochemical tools including proteomics and phosphoproteomics in the round worm C. elegans, I have identified several the key genes and proteins implicated in aging process. With this, I hope my studies can provide important knowledge for intervention of human aging and age-related diseases.
